Privacy Policy

We collect limited information about users of this site. If you sign up to our newsletter we'll store your email address and use it to send you weekly mailings.

We'll only send you information from the Carbon Brief that we believe you will be interested in, and that you have opted in to receive. You'll be able to opt-out of mailings easily using a personalised link included in each email. Only authorised staff at the Carbon Brief can view your email details, and we take reasonable precautions to keep them secure.

Like many other sites, we track visitors to our website using Google Analytics. Data collected can include information about your computer, about your visits to and use of this website, your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views. We use the reports we get from Google Analytics to inform ourselves about how people use the site, and to make our work more useful.

Commenting on the site is handled through Disqus; we do not have access to the personal details of people using this system, only information contained in their public Disqus profile and IP address.

We will not share your information with any third parties, except in exceptional circumstances, such as where we believe the law requires us to.

If you have any questions, please get in touch.
