The Carbon Brief is a website focusing on climate science,
policy and journalism. The site provides blog posts and resources
focused on climate science, as well as related events and
discussions. It is a project of the Energy Strategy Centre, a
Brussels-based communications think-tank funded by the European
Climate Foundation.
The Director, Tom Brookes previously worked on competition,
trade and technology issues in Brussels
before moving to Apple Computer Inc. He is also
director of the Energy Strategy Centre (ESC). Editor Christian
Hunt was previously a web editor for Greenpeace UK.
The website is published by The Carbon Brief Limited, a private
company registered in the UK.
The European Climate Foundation provided seed funding and
administrative support for the project. ECF
describes itself as "the largest philanthropic organisation in
Europe focused on influencing government policy to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions".
