Svetlana is Carbon Brief’s 2025 journalism intern. A climate journalist and researcher, she writes on the intersectional impacts of climate change and social issues, highlighting stories from frontline communities worldwide. As a COP29 youth delegate and UK Youth Climate Coalition director, she drives youth inclusion in climate policy. NCTJ-trained and a key contributor to the African Youth Position Paper on Climate Change and Health, she holds an MSc in politics of conflict, rights and justice and a BA in human rights and creative writing.
